while bored in church...

My Mother got me into a bad habit, one that probably isn't going to stop either. The habit is when you're bored/disagree/or simply don't like the sermon simply read your daily verses, and tune the pastor out completely. oops... I suppose my overly opinionated self just finds it difficult to sit through something and learn nothing when I can just teach myself.
So this past Sunday I found myself annoyed with some of what the pastor was saying and so I started to read what I wanted, and that was Psalm 116 on this particular Sunday. IT WAS PERFECT! I even wrote "haha" at one point in my Bible because it was just my heart written out over 2000 years ago! The Lord is good to me, and now I'm gonna share it with you!
Psalm 116 - NASB
1 I love the LORD, because He hears
My voice
and my supplications.
2 Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I shall call
upon Him as long as I live.
3 The cords of death encompassed me
And the terrors of Sheol came upon me;
I found distress and sorrow.
4 Then I called upon the name of the LORD:
“O L
ORD, I beseech You, save my life!” (the cry of my heart)
5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous;
Yes, our God is compassionate.
6 The LORD preserves the simple;
I was brought low, and He saved me.
7 Return to your rest, O my soul, (This is exactly how I feel after my year...)
For the L
ORD has dealt bountifully with you.
8 For You have rescued my soul from death,
My eyes from tears,
My feet from stumbling.
9 I shall walk before the LORD
In the land of the living.
10 I believed when I said,
“I am greatly afflicted.”
(really this is my life!)
11 I said in my alarm,
“All men are liars.”
(HAHA ;) )
12 What shall I render to the LORD
For all His benefits toward me?
13 I shall lift up the cup of salvation
And call upon the name of the L
ORD.
14 I shall pay my vows to the LORD,
Oh
may it be in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD
And call upon the name of the L
ORD.
18 I shall pay my vows to the LORD,
Oh
may it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the courts of the LORD’S house,
In the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
Praise the L
ORD

I just pray that I will continue to have this heart for the Lord. I want all of us to live Vs 14-19, that we will praise him loud in front of His people all day long! These verses also symbolize my Bible study - we are women who cry and praise together that that is rare.
I love you Lord. I am grateful daily for what you have done in my life this past year and the incredible women I get to surround myself with.
